{"id":18225,"date":"2020-06-12T14:39:25","date_gmt":"2020-06-12T13:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fifaultimateteam.it\/en\/?p=18225"},"modified":"2020-06-12T16:26:58","modified_gmt":"2020-06-12T15:26:58","slug":"fifa-20-introducing-the-ea-sports-summer-cup-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fifaultimateteam.it\/en\/fifa-20-introducing-the-ea-sports-summer-cup-series\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA 20: Introducing the EA SPORTS Summer Cup Series"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EA Sports<\/strong> through a press release announced the <strong>EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Summer Cup Series<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the EA SPORTS FIFA esports team is excited to share our plans on how <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em>\n competition will continue to grow and evolve in the months ahead. Over \nthe last few months, we\u2019ve been impressed by all the grassroots \nexhibition competitions around the world in these unique times. We\u2019ve \nseen exciting tournaments from the community with some incredible \ncharitable elements. We witnessed entertaining National competition with\n the FIFA eNations Cup StayAndPlay Friendlies and we were also amazed by\n the immense support for the <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Stay and Play Cup as more than 100 countries around the world tuned in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on that success, and bringing focus back to our top EA \nSPORTS FIFA 20 competitors, we are adding new competition, transforming \nexisting events and welcoming back domestic football league tournaments.\n This July and August, we are happy to announce there will be <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em>\n remotely produced online tournaments, focusing on competition between \nour top-tier Global Series 20 competitors for fans and viewers around \nthe globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EA will host the <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Summer Cup Series. These \nall-new online, regional events will see the top players from each of \nthe six regions invited to compete in tournaments taking place from July\n 17th to August 9th, vying to be named their respective <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Regional Champion. Tournaments will be broadcast around the world on twitch.tv\/easportsfifa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regions being contested will be Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and Middle East &#8211; Africa. The top <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> competitors from both platforms, based on <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20 <\/em>Global  Series Rankings, will be invited to compete in the Summer Cup Series,  which will be played exclusively on PlayStation 4 and have <strong>$228,000<\/strong> in  prizes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The European Summer Cup will have 24 competitors invited and <strong>$78,000 <\/strong> in prizes. The other five regions will each have eight competitors  invited and <strong>$30,000<\/strong> in prizes. Additional details will be announced  soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the world&#8217;s top football leagues, including Bundesliga, LaLiga, Ligue 1, MLS and more, will resume <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20 <\/em>esports events under revised formats in the coming weeks. More information on the subsequent <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20 <\/em>league partner esports announcements can be found by visiting their respective websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, fans will be able to experience the excitement of UEFA \nChampions League competition through the eChampions League, which will \ntransition to a special one off online invitational event in \nmid-August,. Following the same format as the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Summer \nSeries, the eChampions League Invitational will bring together Europe\u2019s \nbest performing tournament champions from the past three seasons of \ncompetitive FIFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FIFA\u2019s member associations will also continue organizing domestic \nFIFA esports competition and online internationals to engage their \nnational <em>EA SPORTS FIFA<\/em> communities. Further information on FIFA \nesports events run in each country can be found on the respective \nwebsites of the member associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With those additions in mind, we are also taking the decision to not \nproceed with FUT Champions Cup Stage VI, FIFA eNations Cup 2020, the <em>FIFA 20<\/em>\n Global Series PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Playoffs and the subseqeunt \nFIFA eWorld Cup 20 as we must prioritize the safety of the competitors \nand the staff. The <em>FIFA 20<\/em> Global Series Rankings will be \nconsidered Final as of March 3, 2020 and we will reward competitors \n$200,000 in prizes for those qualified to FUT Champions Cup Stage VI and\n $700,000 in prizes as of the <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Global Series Rankings on March 3, 2020.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Global Series was designed to bring \ncompetitors from around the world to compete in live in-person \ntournaments. This structure provides a path to the <em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em>\n Global Series Playoffs and FIFA eWorld Cup by having competitors earn \nGlobal Series Points towards their Global Ranking. This is an underlying\n design principle of our esports program that does not translate to \nonline play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below are additional details on the changes to tournaments mentioned above:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Global Series Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FCC Stage VI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Event cancelled<\/li><li>Competitors who qualified to FCC VI will receive prizing:<ul><li>$3,125 USD per competitor will be awarded, which is the $200,000 prize purse split evenly between all 64 qualified competitors<\/li><li>150 FGS Ranking Points per competitor will be awarded, the minimum \namount a player would have earned if they competed in the event<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>EA SPORTS FIFA 20<\/em> Global Series PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Playoffs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Events cancelled<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prizing for the Final FGS 20 Rankings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>EA will reward $700,000 in total prize money to competitors based on\n the final FGS 20 Rankings, $350,000 per platform. This $700,000 in \nprizing includes the $500,000 in prizing from the Playoffs in addition \nto the $200,000 from FUT Champions Cup Stage V.<\/li><li>Competitors who are ranked within the top 100 places on each \nplatform\u2019s rankings, including players tied for 100th, will earn prize \nmoney based on the proportion of FGS Points that they have earned during\n the FGS 20 season<\/li><li>All events that completed prior to March 3, 2020 and submitted their results will be included in the rankings.<\/li><li>The FGS 20 Rankings on FIFA.GG are updated with all eligible earned \npoints. Competitors will have until June 14th, 2020 to report \ndiscrepancies on the FIFA.GG Rankings to eafifaleagueops@ea.com.<\/li><li>The rankings published on Wednesday, June 17th 2020 will be \nconsidered the final rankings and competitors will be contacted&nbsp;within \n60 days to process their prize payments after that time.<\/li><li>For further information on how this prizing will be distributed, please see the FAQ below.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FIFA eNations Cup\u2122 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Event cancelled<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FIFA eWorld Cup\u2122 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Event cancelled<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FAQ<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why are FUT Champions Cup Stage IV, the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global  Series Playoffs and FIFA eWorld Cup not being transitioned to online?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>As with any game, time zone considerations and latency between \ncompetitors from the different regions of the world (for example, Los \nAngeles to London) would not meet the standards we have for a top tier \nEA SPORTS FIFA esports event.<\/li><li>Competitions in our ecosystem that do not feature international \nplay, such as domestic leagues, may resume within the guidelines of \ntheir local government\u2019s COVID-19 response but will not contribute \ntowards EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series Rankings.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When will the FIFA.gg Rankings be final, including the FCC Stage VI points, for Playoffs prizing payouts?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Competitors have until June 14th to report any discrepancies with their FGS Points shown on FIFA.gg<\/li><li>Discrepancies can be reported by emailing <a href=\"mailto:eafifaleagueops@ea.com\">eafifaleagueops@ea.com<\/a><\/li><li>The FIFA.gg update on Wednesday, June 17th will be considered the final standings of the FGS 20 season<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How will competitors be rewarded based on their FGS Rankings?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Competitors who are ranked within the top 100 places on each \nplatform\u2019s rankings will be rewarded, that includes competitors tied for\n 100th place. Any player ranked 101st or above on their platform\u2019s \nrankings will not be eligible for prizing.<\/li><li>Player\u2019s will be rewarded based on the proportion of total points \nthey have earned compared to all the points earned by competitors in the\n Top 100.<ul><li>For example, if all players on the PS4 Rankings in places 1-100 \nearned a total of 10,000 FGS Points, and player A earned 1,000 ranking \npoints, Player A would win: (1,000 points\/10,000 points) X $350,000 = \n$35,000<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/li><li>When is the last weekend league that will be counted for the rankings?<ul><li>Weekend leagues through the February period (ending March 3rd, 2020) will contribute Points toward a player\u2019s final FGS Ranking<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which events will be included in the rankings?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Any FGS points earning competition completed before March 3rd, 2020 will be included in the final FGS 20 Rankings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FIFA 20<\/strong> is available from September 27, 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC,  Nintendo Switch.
