Official rules of conduct disclosed by Electronic Arts: It’s easy to play by our rules if you know what they are.
There are a few rules that we’d like you to be aware of for FIFA so you and other players have the best experience. We have these rules to keep things fun and fair for everyone that plays FIFA, and anyone that breaks them can get banned. Avoid getting your account suspended or banned by keeping things honest and by not cheating.
Here’s how to play by the rules:
1. Don’t distribute Coins
Coin distribution inflates the FIFA economy. That means disrupting the safe buying and selling environment that legitimate players are trying to use to get the players they need for their Ultimate Team.
We all want to help a friend out, but sending them Coins isn’t the way to do it. Sending Coins to your friends is a form of Coin distribution and it breaks our rules.
It breaks our rules if you use the FUT Transfer Market to transfer Coins to another player instead of to get a FUT item legitimately. This could mean that you complete or assist in the purchase of a FUT item for the purpose of transferring Coins from one account to another, rather than getting an item to add to your Club to play with. Transferring Coins in this way, either to your friends or to sell Coins to anyone, is against our rules.
Giveaways are another form of coin distribution. For example, a player or site offers you Coins in exchange for subscribing. Don’t do it! It’s against our rules.

2. Don’t buy Coins
You can earn FUT Coins by playing FUT and trading within the Transfer Market, but you can’t purchase them. Buying coins from a third-party is against our rules.
A few ways to earn FUT Coins are:
- playing matches in Ultimate Team
- completing Squad Building Challenges that have Coins as part of the reward
- selling items or trading players for a fair price on the Transfer Market.
Buying or selling Coins helps to create an uneven playing field because, among other things, it can result in an unfair increase in prices of items on the Transfer Market. This can take away the opportunity to buy affordable items on the Transfer Market from users who earned their Coins legitimately.
Using the Market for the purpose of transferring Coins is against the rules and can put your account at risk.
If you buy Coins, you’re at risk for having your account information stolen by phishers. Some Coin Sellers need account login information to give out Coins, so they can just as easily remove players and Coins, too. Then they’ll turn around and make a profit off of the items they steal and hack someone else. Help keep your account safe and don’t give your login information to anyone, especially not to buy Coins.
Buying “mule” accounts or performing comfort trades are not allowed. These things are against our rules because they have a negative impact on the game economy, and they damage gameplay for you and other players. When in doubt, don’t do it.
3. Don’t connect to EA Servers using anything other than EA Web or Companion apps or an unmodified platform
You can only access FIFA, FIFA Ultimate Team, and our FIFA servers using an official version of EA SPORTS FIFA, otherwise it breaks our rules. An official version is one that you bought from us or an authorized retailer. You must also use either an unmodified platform or the official FUT Web and FUT Companion Apps to avoid breaking our rules. An unmodified platform is a console or PC that no one has adjusted or added anything to that would change the way it functions. In other words, the console must work the way it did when it came out of the box from an authorized retailer, and the PC does not have any software running to modify the game or the game’s interactions with EA.
If you share your credentials with someone who is using a modified platform, that breaks our rules too.
We don’t want you to use third party apps and browser extensions because it puts your account at risk. When you use these third-party apps and browser extensions, your login info can be visible to third parties and someone could use that info to take over your account. Browser extensions can capture your passwords, track your web browsing, insert ads into web pages you visit, and more.
4. Don’t use auto-buyers
If you use any sort of in-game bots, like auto-buyers, so you can earn Coins fast and illegitimately, that’s breaking the rules. Making transactions outside of in-game, Companion app, or Web app limits or playing in an unauthorized way that gives you an unfair advantage hurts the experience for you and other players.
You can only access FIFA, FIFA Ultimate Team, and our FIFA servers using an official version of EA SPORTS FIFA, otherwise it breaks our rules. An official version is one that you bought from us or an authorized retailer. You must also use either an unmodified platform or the official FUT Web and FUT Companion Apps to avoid breaking our rules. An unmodified platform is a console or PC that no one has adjusted or added anything to that would change the way it functions. 5. Don’t promote Coin buying and selling
Promoting the sale or purchase of Coins anywhere within our games or forums breaks our rules. Coin distribution breaks our code of trust.
6. Don’t farm Coins
Like we said above, you can earn Coins in a bunch of different ways in FIFA. But farming Coins is a big no-no.
Coin farming is when you get Coins fast and illegitimately, either by using bots in the Auction House or by tricking the game into thinking you’re playing matches when you aren’t.
When you store a lot of Coins in your account, that’s totally cool. As long as you’re earning those Coins the right way in-game. Using any sort of Auction House bots or disconnection methods in-game, that’s breaking the rules.
7. Don’t make false claims
Making a false claim to EA Help Advisors or any other EA representative is against our gameplay rules, and it’s not cool. Breaking the rules makes it hard to provide a fun, safe, and secure environment for you and all players.
8. Don’t hack other players’ accounts
It might seem like a no-brainer, but accessing another player’s account is totally and completely against the rules.
9. Don’t cheat in-game
Nobody likes a cheater, so it’s against our rules. Cheating can include, but isn’t limited to, using external tools, performing in-game exploits, abusing glitches or bugs, performing, using, buying, or selling match collusion, matchmaking manipulation, or win manipulation services. In-game cheating is not fair play and hurts the experience for the players you are playing against.
What happens if I break the rules?
We have our rules in place because we want FIFA to be a fair, fun, secure experience.
If you break the rules, we might:
- Remove your account from FUT Champions leaderboards
- Remove your FUT Champions rewards
- Remove your FUT Coins
- Delete your FUT Club
- Temporarily or permanently lock your account out of the Transfer Market
- Temporarily or permanently remove access to the Transfer Market on the Companion or Web app
- Temporarily or permanently ban your account from FIFA online play, which means you lose access to every mode where you connect to our servers. Examples of FIFA online play are (but not limited to) FIFA Pro Clubs, FUT Squad Battles, or VOLTA FOOTBALL.
- Ban your account from your current FIFA game
- Ban your account from all FIFA games
- Ban you from all EA games
- Suspend your console from playing FIFA online modes for a period of time
- Restrict your access in other ways.
