Today, the names of the players selected for the 99 Club in the official roster that will be available at launch in Madden NFL 27 were announced.
The 99 Club is the highest distinction awarded by EA Sports to players featured in the Madden NFL series. It is reserved exclusively for athletes who receive an Overall Rating (OVR) of 99, the highest possible rating in the game’s evaluation system.
Being part of the 99 Club means that EA considers that player to be the very best, or at least one of the few most dominant players in the NFL at that particular time.
Although the 99 rating has existed for virtually the entire history of the Madden series, the “99 Club” brand was officially introduced by EA Sports with Madden NFL 20 in 2019, turning it into a genuine marketing and prestige initiative.
In recent years, EA Sports has transformed the 99 Club into a true award. New members are often presented with a custom-made 99 Club chain, accompanied by a celebratory event and dedicated content across the official channels.
Many NFL players consider joining the 99 Club to be a prestigious achievement, almost on par with certain sporting awards. As a result, Madden player ratings generate discussions among fans, the media, and the athletes themselves every summer.
