Last night’s news of not releasing a playable FIFA 21 demo caused the anger and disappointment of fans who were eagerly waiting to try EA Sports’ new football game.
The comments on the official pages and the tweets have been copious and the hypotheses about this strange decision have been many and in some cases even toxic.
One of the most popular hypotheses is to run the risk of finding a copy of FIFA 20 in your hands. An evaluation that we exclude given the countless improvements introduced in the career mode and the interesting innovations that we will find in the popular FIFA 21 Ultimate Team mode.
The hypothesis of an insufficiently developed gameplay may be implausible, in fact the version for the current gen consoles is the starting point for the optimization of the version for the new generation platforms PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Thanks to the service Free Dual Entitlement owners of FIFA 21 for PS4 and Xbox One will be able to get the version for the Next Gen for free.
Furthermore, the presence of novelties such as Agile Dribbling, Creative Runs and the greater effectiveness of the Head shots have “forced” the Canadian software house to heavily modify the new gameplay.
Instead, we share the theory of a non-release of the demo to give greater visibility and importance to the EA Play subscription. In fact, thanks to this service it will be possible to try in absolute preview, starting from 1 October and for 10 hours, the final version of the new FIFA 21 football simulator.

Also not to be overlooked is the cancellation of some important summer fairs ( E3, Gamescom ), due to COVID, which did not “oblige” Eletronic Arts to have to develop a playable version for Showfloor.
