Former Fnatic Pro Player Harry Hesketh, after receiving a ban from EA Sports from all competitions in the FIFA series for a year, has announced his retirement from the franchiseโ€™s competitions.

The sanction starts from the distant 12 December, the day when Harry Hesketh during a live on the Twitch platform uttered an unhappy joke about the mother of the phenomenon of the moment Anders Vejrgang. The 14-year-old holds the record for winning streak in the FUT Champion Weekend League of the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team mode.

The Englishman, in a goliardic moment of the live broadcast, found himself exchanging considerations with the other participants in the live on the prodigy boy and still under the effect of a slight hangover he uttered some inelegant phrases. In the following hours, once the alcohol fumes had been disposed of and realized the gaffe, he contacted Andreas and his entourage to apologize. The apologies were readily accepted as the โ€œhappyโ€ situation and the context in which the jokes were made made everyone understand that he was just a slip.

EA Sports did not reach the same conclusions and Saturday (23 January) published an official statement on its website informing that Harry Hesketh has received a one-year ban, the revocation of the status of verified player and the exclusion from all future competitions in the series for the entire period of the suspension.

The response of the English Pro was not long in coming. Through a video posted on Youtube he again apologized to Anders and his family. He explained once again that he realized that the joke was out of place and that he does not intend to seek justifications just because he was tipsy. After which he expressed some considerations regarding the ban claiming that EA Sports does not have a balanced yardstick and that if only he wanted it could report hundreds of similar episodes present on the various social networks and streaming platforms of all those who have participated in at least one of the competitions organized by the Canadian software house and which have not received the same treatment.

โ€œI donโ€™t like the idea that EA Sports can arbitrarily decide the fate of a professional without a uniform yardstick, I was wrong during a live where everyone was having fun and the context was goliardic. I donโ€™t want to justify myself for this but I donโ€™t want to be treated in the same way as those who received the same sanction for posting racially motivated thoughts and / or content. For this reason I decided to withdraw from the FIFA competitive โ€œconcluded the veteran of the competitive.

In fact, a few minutes after the video was published, Fnatic also announced that it had agreed to terminate the contract with the Englishman three years earlier than the natural expiration date.
