EA Sports, through an official press release, made it clear what happened yesterday regarding the possibility for some users to access the Debug mode of the Web App.

According to some users, this could have arbitrarily added Coins and Packs to their account. EA Sports has categorically denied the situation. While admitting that Debug mode could actually be accessed, he assured that in no way could the players change their Coins or Packs.

He also made it clear that the string โ€œPackOddsLowPercentageLocalizationThresholdโ€ does not affect the probability of pack drop in any way, but it is a string that refers to packs with a probability of less than 1% and which has not been in use for some time.

The official press release follows:

Earlier today an issue surfaced during a regular update to our Web App. This ended up causing debug menu tools, that are used for internal testing and development, to be visible to players.

The issue was quickly recognized and has since been fixed. Though the tools were visible, players couldnโ€™t use them to add content or make permanent changes to their own or anyone elseโ€™s accounts. To be clear, no one was able to receive in-game benefits from this issue, despite some claims weโ€™ve seen online.

We understand the community has questions about this issue and these tools, what they do, and why they exist. Weโ€™ll be following with answers for some of the top questions weโ€™re seeing surface. We want everyone to have clarity on this.

Q: What caused this debug menu to be shown in the FUT Web App?

A: A mistake in the release process for the FUT Web App resulted in the debug menu being made available to players. Once the mistake was identified, we resolved the issue.

Q: What does โ€œPackOddsLowPercentageLocalizationThresholdโ€ mean?

A: This setting was previously used to determine the threshold for when the Pack Probabilities screen displays a value as <1%. While the setting is displayed in the debug menu, itโ€™s no longer used in the FUT Web App

Q: Using the tools, could I remove my own, or someone elseโ€™s FUT Transfer Market access?

A: We saw an example where someone disabled their own FUT Transfer Market access using the debug tools. This ability was only temporary for that session within the Web App, and they could only do it to their own account. When they refreshed their browser, their access would be restored.
