EA Sports, with a short press release released via social media, announced that it is terminating the contract stipulated with the popular sports journalist Pierre Ménès and that it will not be the official voice of the commentary of the French version of the new FIFA 22.
In the last hours, after the airing of a documentary on Canal+, testimonies emerged of sexual violence against some sports journalists who participated in the broadcasts of Pierre Menes.
Below is the full press release disclosed by the Canadian software house:
“It is important to us that the behavior of our athletes and partners is in line with the values of EA Sports FIFA. We became aware of Pierre Menes’ actions and immediately ended our relationship with him.
Although we are ending our relationship with Pierre Ménès immediately and his comments will not be incorporated into FIFA 22 and later versions of the game, we are sensitive to the inconvenience that the removal of his comments could cause in the current game.
Players who no longer wish to hear Pierre Ménès’ comments have the option of updating their in-game settings and selecting another language from a number of choices.”
