According to what is reported by the Vice.com website, Electronic Arts was the victim of one of the biggest hacker attacks which resulted in the theft of about 780GB of data concerning some of the most popular games of the Canadian software house including FIFA 21.
It seems that the hackers have also shared the evidence of their action in some underground Hacking forums to prove the veracity of their claims. Among the stolen data there should be data regarding the FIFA 21 code and the powerful Frostbite graphics engine.
An EA representative told Vice.com that they are aware of the attack but reassured that sensitive player data was not taken. The Canadian software house with the help of law enforcement officials are trying to trace the perpetrators of the attack.
In any case, for Electronic Arts it is a real catastrophe, the stolen codes could be resold on the black market and furthermore the trust of consumers, who hold their sensitive data in a particular and legitimate way, could drastically decrease.
