Today, Electronic Arts and FIFPRO, the global representative of professional footballers, announced an extension of their partnership. The renewed long-term commitment supports EA SPORTS ‘continued investment in the future of football and further enables EA SPORTS to offer the greatest and most authentic football experience to more than 150 million players globally.
This confirms, that beyond the latest rumors that EA Sports intends to change the name of the FIFA series, however, the best-selling football game in the world will have all the licenses of European footballers and most of the rest of the world.
For the past 28 years, EA SPORTS has created the greatest sports game in the world – loved by fans, gamers and the football community around the world. The collective strength of the EA SPORTS football franchise is fueled by over 300 licensed partners, including FIFPRO, who help generate the game’s unparalleled authenticity, both now and in the future. In addition to the thousands of player names and likenesses that are supported by the FIFPRO licensing agreement, EA SPORTS football experiences are the only ones where fans can play in the iconic UEFA Champions League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and LaLiga Santander.
“We are excited to continue our long-term partnership with EA SPORTS, a true partner who is committed to creating the best interactive experience for football fans around the world,” said Theo van Seggelen, CEO of FIFPRO Holding.
