EA Sports, through a press release, revealed what are the official details about the new RTTK Road To The Knockouts event for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team mode.
The journey to European glory starts here with dynamic player items that upgrade based on their team’s real-world performance through the Group Stages of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League.
The race is on for European glory. The final three games of the Group Stages will decide who can still dream of a UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, or UEFA Conference League title—and which Road to the Knockout player items will take your Ultimate Team to the next level.
Each RTTK item has the potential for two dynamic upgrades—one if their team wins at least two of their remaining Group Stage games and one if their team qualifies for the Knockout Stages of their respective UEFA competition.
So keep an eye on Europe, because what happens in each UEFA competition will decide just how good each RTTK player will become in Ultimate Team.

When will items be upgraded in-game?
“Wins upgrades” will go live at the end of each week after all that week’s European matches have concluded, starting from Friday October 21st. Qualification upgrades will go live after the Group Stages have been completed, starting from Friday November 4th. Does the player have to play in order to receive upgrades?
Road to the Knockout upgrades are only based on team performance, so a player doesn’t have to feature in the games in order to earn ratings boosts.
Will these items continue to be upgraded after the Group Stage?
Road to the Knockout items are only eligible for the two potential Group Stage upgrades and do not receive any upgrades during the Knockout Stages. However, RTTK is just the beginning— future UEFA competition campaigns will offer you opportunities to continue to celebrate the Knockout Stages of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League in Ultimate Team.
What happens if a team places third and qualifies for the Knockout Stages of a lower European competition?
A player’s team needs to reach the Knockout Stages of their current competition in order to earn the “qualification upgrade”. This means that only players whose teams finish in 1st or 2nd position in their group will receive those qualification-specific ratings boosts.
What happens if a team has had a game postponed and has four remaining group games?
Road to the Knockout items only need two wins in order to receive a “wins upgrade”. If a team has had a game postponed and as a result has four remaining games from October 7th, they will still only need to win two out their four remaining games to receive a “wins upgrade”.
