In recent weeks we have highlighted that EA has decided to replace Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover of FIFA 19 with 3 different stars (De Bruyne, Neymar and Dybala).

But now comes the official explanation from EA that justifies it with a rebranding ahead of the appearance for the first time of the UEFA Champions League.

Here is the official release:

“With the UEFA Champions League coming to EA Sports FIFA 19 this year, we have a unique opportunity to offer a range of new content to players that reflects the real-world excitement of football,”

“We often celebrate different talent across our sports games, and with the UEFA Champions League knockout stages underway we are featuring some of the biggest stars in football and bringing new players a range of content to get excited about.”

Will this really be the real motivation or is there any other motivation that could concern the recent legal problems of the Portuguese champion? What do you think about it?

FIFA 19 is available from September 28, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch. Keep on following us also through our social Facebook and Twitter for other news and information.
