As we have known for some time, EA Sports has decided to separate from FIFA, and their new simulation title will necessarily have to change its name. We know that the new “FIFA 24” will be called EA Sports FC and will probably be accompanied by the number 24.
Naturally, some game modes will also have to change their names. The most important is undoubtedly FIFA Ultimate Team, the mode that most excites gamers thanks to the possibility of creating their dream team.
As reported by Footy Headliners, EA Sports has registered 2 new trademarks, which are “Football Ultimate Team and Futball Ultimate Team“. These two trademarks would allow them to maintain the famous abbreviation “FUT” that is so well-known and used by fans. Most likely, therefore, we will continue next year to talk about FUT, but this time referring to Football or Futball instead of FIFA. The content won’t change much.
Additionally, the names of the new FIFA Points and FIFA Coins have reportedly been registered, and they are now expected to be called FC Points and FC Coins.
EA Sports has registered 11 new trademarks linked to their football game. These trademarks include UT, FUTBOL ULTIMATE TEAM, FOOTBALL ULTIMATE TEAM, ULTIMATE TEAM FC, UTFC, FC COINS, VOLTA FOOTBALL, FC POINTS, TOTW, TOTY, and FC.
At the moment, Electronic Arts has not released any official statements. As previously communicated in the past weeks, we may have to wait until July to receive the first official news and contents regarding the new football simulator.
