Through its official website, Electronic Arts has announced that in the popular Ultimate Team mode of the highly anticipated football simulator, EA Sports FC 24, it will be possible to create mixed squads featuring both male and female football stars.
It’s a year of firsts to improve players in your club with Ultimate Team Evolutions, include women’s footballers in your Ultimate XI, and introduce another dimension to your gameplay with PlayStyles.
This introduction will radically change the gameplay of the most played and beloved mode by the series’ fans. To be able to field female players from the football landscape and make use of cards with a smaller body type compared to male players, some modifications must have been made.
Ultimate means everyone welcomes women’s football to Ultimate Team to unlock a new world of squad-building potential.
In EA SPORTS FC 24, ultimate means everyone. Ultimate Team unites both halves of The World’s Game, bringing men’s and women’s football together to play on the same pitch. This welcomes six new competitions to the Ultimate Team player pool – the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Barclays Women’s Super League, National Women’s Soccer League, the D1 Arkema, plus the debut of the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga and Liga F in EA SPORTS FC 24. It’s the biggest addition to the player pool ever introduced in Ultimate Team, unlocking more squad-building possibilities and more ways to make your Ultimate Team uniquely yours.

WILL MEN’S & WOMEN’S FOOTBALLERS COMPETE ON THE SAME PITCH?
Yes. All players will compete on the same pitch in Ultimate Team. You’ll have the opportunity to create hybrid squads with more players than ever to choose from around The World’s Game and compete with your unique team across Ultimate Team.
HOW WILL MEN’S & WOMEN’S FOOTBALLERS BE INTEGRATED TOGETHER ACROSS EVERYTHING IN ULTIMATE TEAM?
- Packs – Both men’s and women’s footballers will be available together in the pool of players for packs.
- Transfer Market – All tradeable players will be searchable on the Transfer Market based on their league, club, nationality, position, price, etc.
- Objectives – Men’s and women’s footballers will both be eligible as Objectives requirements and Objectives rewards.
- Rewards – Men’s and women’s footballers will both be included in Rewards throughout the year.
- Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) – You will be able to submit all players into SBCs as long as they meet the requirements (nationality, position, leagues, clubs, etc.). The introduction of more players will essentially mean more possibilities when it comes to completing an SBC.
- Draft – Any player currently available in the pool of players has the potential to be added to your team in Draft.
WILL THERE BE NEW ICONS OR HEROES FROM WOMEN’S FOOTBALL?
Yes. There will be ICONs & Heroes from women’s football history added to Ultimate Team. More information to be shared later this summer.
HOW WILL SQUAD CHEMISTRY WORK?
Chemistry will remain the same with one additional opportunity to link players across men’s and women’s football. All players will still link to other players from the same leagues and nations (ex. WSL players will link to other WSL players, all English players will link with other English players, etc.). This year, you’ll also be able to link women’s footballers to men’s footballers who play for their affiliated club (ex. all Chelsea players will link to one another, all Real Madrid players will link to one another, etc.).
HOW WILL RATINGS WORK?
All players in Ultimate Team are rated relative to the players they play against on the pitch in the real world. Ratings will be consistent with other modes in the game (ex. if a player is 85 rated in Kick Off, they’ll also have a base OVR of 85 in Ultimate Team).
WILL WOMEN’S FOOTBALLERS BE A PART OF FUTURE LIVE SERVICE CAMPAIGNS?
Yes. Players from across The World’s Game will be available in SBCs, Objectives, Moments, and more. Stay tuned for more specifics throughout the year.
