EA Sports has recently announced the special TOTY Leagues Player Pick SBC is available from 6 PM on January 30 in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team mode.
Squad Building Challenges are challenges that allow players to trade excess cards from their team with others that may be more useful.
Earn 1 of 3 Rare Gold Players rated 86 OVR or higher from PL, BWSL, L1, D1, LL, LF, BL, GPFBL, SA, CAF, RSL, MLS or NWSL.
Official Statment: Update on TOTY 86+ Leagues SBC
- A SBC was released on 30th January at 10 am PST with an 86+ OVR untradeable reward from 13 leagues that featured at least one TOTY Player Item.
- Two of those leagues had only one Item matching the 86+ OVR threshold (Rest Of World and MLS).
- The SBC was live for 24 minutes, prior to its removal following the identification of a design issue.
- In that time frame an estimated 0.7% of Ultimate team players obtained a TOTY Messi item.
We understand this has caused frustration within the Ultimate Team Community, and we apologize and appreciate your patience. We have explored several scenarios for how to proceed in a way that is both fair and would preserve long term game health. We can confirm the following:
- Players who completed this SBC while it was available will keep their rewards Â
- The SBC will not be returning as originally designed
We know that this is not a perfect solution, and we will continue examining our processes with the aim of minimizing such issues in the future.

Important Update January 30 6:25 pm – Apparently, due to a bug, the SBC has been removed. In fact, as noted in the community, the number of TOTY Messi cards being released was significant. We are awaiting communication from EA Sports.
Requirements to Complete TOTY Leagues Player Pick SBC
The required challenges to complete the SBC are:
- Min. 1 player with minimum OVR of 87
- Min. Team Rating: 85
SBC Expires on February 6, 2024
The SBC TOTY Leagues Player Pick will be available for 7 Days and will expire at 6:00 p.m. on February 6.
