In an interview with Eurogamer.net, executive producer Aaron McHardy was asked how the company would respond if these modes were declared illegal (as they currently are in Belgium).
McHardy replied: “I will not talk about future plans, but what I will say is – I know there is legislation that talks about some of these things, particularly gambling related – we don’t believe what we have in Ultimate Team be it gambling. “
“If, for some reason, we were considered” illegal “, of course we would respond to this. But what we publish every year we don’t think is gambling, we think it’s a fun form of involvement for people, who may be able to interact with a video game in a really interesting way. It would be a shame if the world exchanged the modality for something else, as far as we are concerned! “.
