Below, we are releasing a guide on how to enable Input Overlay, which allows you to see the gamepad and the on-screen clicked buttons. This function will be very useful for streamers to showcase the actions they perform during games.
What is Input Overlay?
Input Overlay is a setting that displays on-screen controller graphics, letting you watch the inputs you perform during a match.
These visuals can help you monitor your in-game actions and understand how your inputs are processed by EA SPORTS FC Game Data Centers and your network during online play.
Where can I find Input Overlay?
From the Main menu
- Start EA SPORTS FC.
- From the Main menu, go to Settings.
- Click Game Settings, then go to the Visual tab.
- Scroll through the list until you get to Input Overlay.
- Choose your preferred Input Overlay option.
From a match
- Start an EA SPORTS FC™ match.
- Pause the match.
- Go to Settings.
- Click Game Settings, then go to the Visual tab.
- Scroll through the list until you get to Input Overlay.
- Choose your preferred Input Overlay option.
What are the Input Overlay options?
Off
Input-related graphics aren’t displayed on screen.
Input Only
One controller graphic is displayed in the top-right corner of your screen during matches and it works differently depending on what kind of match you’re playing.

- Offline match: The controller graphic mirrors the actions you perform, like button presses on your physical controller.
- Online match: The controller graphic automatically changes into the Online Response one, if you’re playing an online match through an EA SPORTS FC Game Data Center.
- Peer to Peer Online: The controller graphic displays the actions performed on your physical controller as they are processed by the game.
Local Input + Online Response
Two controller graphics are displayed on the top-right corner of your screen during online matches played on EA SPORTS FC™ Game Data Centers.
- The first controller graphic is Local Input and mirrors the actions you perform on your physical controller.
- The second controller graphic is Online Response, which shows the same inputs but after they’ve been processed by a EA SPORTS FC Game Data Center and your network. This Input Overlay option is only available for matches played on EA SPORTS FC Game Data Centers.
- When you choose this option, the Input Only option is automatically used during offline matches.
