With the trailer and Deep Dive released just moments ago, Electronic Arts has unveiled all the new features coming to Career Mode in its latest football simulation, EA FC 27.
A quick look at the trailer, which you can find at the end of this article, together with a closer reading of the Deep Dive, immediately shows that EA’s work has been focused on making this mode more immersive and engaging.
The transfer market has been significantly overhauled, with a complete redesign affecting virtually every aspect of negotiations for buying and selling players.
Under the new system, several stages must now be completed before a deal can be finalized. In fact, before negotiations can officially begin, approval must first be obtained from both the club that owns the player’s registration and the player himself.
The changes do not stop there. Both transfer negotiations and player contracts have been expanded with a wide range of new clauses, allowing managers to maximize the outcome of every deal. The previous 3D negotiation scenes have also been replaced by a 2D interactive experience, making the entire process quicker and more streamlined.
The Transfer Hub has also been redesigned and now features two separate sections. One is entirely dedicated to scouting, while the other focuses on transfer negotiations, allowing managers to closely monitor both the evaluation of new players and the progress of ongoing deals.
Loan negotiations have also been expanded with new contractual options. For example, it is now possible to sign a player and immediately loan him back to his current club for one or more seasons.
Moving on to other aspects of Career Mode, the new Dynamic OVR system completely changes how player ratings and development evolve, even over the course of a single season. A player’s overall rating can now increase or decrease depending on performances, morale, and several other factors.
Overall rating fluctuations will also be influenced by Match Fitness. Managers who consistently keep their players at optimal Match Fitness will maximize the benefits of the Dynamic OVR system. Those who neglect physical preparation may see their players’ performances decline, even though their base attributes remain unchanged.
Another major addition is the continued evolution of Realistic Gameplay. Player movement has been refined to feel more physical and authentic while maintaining responsiveness. Ball touches, changes of direction, and sprints now carry greater weight, making both on-ball and off-ball actions more realistic, especially when players are under pressure.
Weather conditions now have a greater impact on matches as well. During rainy or snowy games, players may lose their balance while changing direction, adding another layer of unpredictability to movement on the pitch.
Tackle animations have also been updated, making challenges more intense and varied. Shoulder-to-shoulder duels now have a greater impact on gameplay, aerial battles are more contested, and players can lose their balance following physical challenges. CPU-controlled players will also commit more fouls, with the aim of making defensive duels more realistic.
Over the past few hours, the full list of licensed leagues and cup competitions that will be available at the launch of EA Sports FC 27 has also been officially confirmed.
Last week, Electronic Arts also revealed important details regarding the pre-order bonuses available across every edition of the new football simulation, including the introduction of the Ultimate Plus Edition.
In addition, the brand-new Hall of FUT cards were announced for the popular Ultimate Team mode, featuring a squad made up of iconic players who have earned a special place in the hearts of fans of the series.
