Electronic Arts, through an announcement on the official forum, has stated that cumulative discounts cannot be used for pre-ordering the football simulation game EA Sports FC 24.
For years, fans of the series have been purchasing EA Sports titles by taking advantage of both the 10% discount from their EA Play subscription and the 10% discount offered when pre-ordering through the in-game menus, which usually appeared alongside the announcement of the new football simulator. This procedure can no longer be used.
Below is the official statement released by the Canadian software company: We’ve made changes to how certain discounts can be used to buy games. Here’s what you need to know.
Which discounts are affected?
Your game loyalty discount – Some of our games with a yearly release have included certain loyalty discounts for entitling (purchasing the full game or playing via EA Play) the edition from the year before. The discount can be used to buy the latest edition of that game. For example, players who entitled FIFA 22 were offered a discount on pre-orders of FIFA 23.
Your EA Play membership discount – If you’re an EA Play member, you get a 10% discount on all EA games as part of your membership.
What’s changed?
Previously, if you were eligible for both available discounts, you would’ve been able to stack them for greater savings. Moving forward, you’ll no longer be able to combine these discounts, and will need to choose one to put towards your purchase of a qualifying game.
