Through Bayern Munich’s official website, brand-new Hero cards have been unveiled, set to feature in the hugely popular Ultimate Team mode of EA FC 26.

As we write this piece, voting is currently live on the German club’s site. Fans are being asked to decide who will be the very first to receive this special card. The candidates are former German midfielder Stefan Effenberg, Brazilian striker Giovane Élber, and the powerful Peruvian centre-forward Claudio Pizarro.
Since all three players have long retired from professional football, Electronic Arts has signed individual agreements directly with them, without involving their former club. This strongly suggests that the vote will simply determine who gets the Hero card first.
Given that the publisher has most likely already secured the image rights for all three legends, the two who miss out in this poll are still expected to receive their own Hero card later in the season.
For now, aside from the poll itself, neither Electronic Arts nor Bayern Munich have issued any official statement. That will likely change in the coming hours. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the situation and will make sure to keep you updated.
Among the 15 selected players receiving an Icon card are former Roma captain Francesco Totti, ex-Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimović, and many other stars who have written unforgettable chapters in the history of the beautiful game.
