Federal judge Marcelo Gota has issued a ruling that “orders” EA Sports to remove all references of Diego Armando Maradana from the FIFA series.
The close legal diatribe that is taking place for the control of image rights and the legacy of Diego Armando Maradona also involves Electronic Arts.
The Argentine court agreed with Sattvica’s lawyers, consequently issuing a sentence with the “request to the companies concerned to refrain from using the trademark on their interactive content distribution platforms, such as FIFA 22, FIFA Ultimate Team, FIFA Street, FIFA World Class Soccer, Football Manager and as EA’s Ultimate Player “, at the same time as the immediate conclusion of any advertising activity linked to Maradona’s IP.
