On the 24th of July, the well-known Insiders FUT Scoreboard leaked the design of a new Icon card, which was a mix between the classic Icon card and the special End Of An Era card. Everything seemed to suggest that they were releasing new Icon cards dedicated to footballers who retired this season.

However, just a few minutes ago, the FUT Scoreboard rectified the leak, stating that the card’s name in question is “Cover Star Icon.” This new name changes everything. In fact, these new special cards could be dedicated to Icon players who have been featured on the cover of FIFA in different years, celebrating the end of an era of FIFA.

Official Update July 27 6:20 pm – Join us in looking back at some of the most iconic Cover Stars in history with the introduction of Cover Star Icons. Cover Star ICONs will NOT be available in packs and will only be released via SBCs or Objectives.
