After the announcement of the partnership between Inter and Konami disclosed through the official website of the neroazzurro club, many fans of the FIFA series are wondering if EA Sports will still be able to use the club license.

According to the official press release, it is not mentioned in any way that the Inter license was granted exclusively to Konami. In the last hours, there is talk of a hypothetical exclusive to matches from the 2023/2024 season but neither the Japanese software house nor Inter has ever confirmed this indiscretion that appeared on the web.

Even in the latest press release released by EA Sports, it is clearly stated that the Inter license will continue to be present in both FIFA 23 and EA Sports FC. Probably the title of the news published by the Nerazzurri club is creating some misunderstanding. It says: “Exclusive Multi-year Global Partnership” and not “Exclusive” partners.

So according to what has been declared by EA Sports and by Inter itself with their respective press releases, the official license can be used by the Canadian software house.

Below is the full press release published on the Inter official website:

FC Internazionale Milano and KONAMI are thrilled to announce that an exclusive multi-year agreement has been reached, which will see the gaming market leader become the club’s Global Football Videogame Partner, Youth Development Centre Partner and Training Kit Back Partner.

For the 2022/23 season and beyond, the eFootball logo for KONAMI’s popular football-themed video game series will appear on the reverse of the training kit worn by the men’s and women’s first teams as well as youth sides, in addition to featuring on the pre-match kit donned by players during the warm-up ahead of all domestic fixtures.

KONAMI will also hold the naming rights for the training ground that is home to Inter Women and the Youth Academy, which has always been the club’s pride and joy, attesting to the gaming brand’s widespread involvement in the Inter world. The facility will be called the KONAMI Youth Development Centre in Memory of Giacinto Facchetti. The training ground will also play host to a series of events for the Nerazzurri youth teams as well as the club’s training centres, football schools and international Inter Academies visiting Milan.

In addition, the partnership spans the world of gaming, which is KONAMI’s core business and a field in which the Nerazzurri have been present for many years with Inter Esports. KONAMI will work in tandem with the club on domestic and international projects within the eSports world, which will be revealed over the course of the campaign.

This agreement signals the renewal of a collaboration between two global brands that are market leaders in their respective sectors, with a push for innovation, dialogue with new generations and an international vision, all of which are cornerstones of the club’s growth strategy.

“This new multi-year global partnership agreement proves the importance of a common path between Inter and KONAMI,” says Alessandro Antonello, Corporate CEO of FC Internazionale Milano“a clear commitment that resumes a bond that began years ago and will continue into the future, based on shared values and objectives.”

“We are delighted to welcome KONAMI back into the Inter family and to announce this important and unique partnership, which once again proves the ever-growing value of the Nerazzurri brand and its ability to represent the ideal communication platform to engage a young, innovative and international target, capable of connecting millions of fans around the world, thanks to a long-term strategy. Starting this season, KONAMI will play a leading role in our world,” the words of Luca Danovaro, Chief Revenue Officer of FC Internazionale Milano.”

“Joining forces with a club of Inter’s calibre as part of our football partners is so exciting for KONAMI,” added Naoki Morita, the European president of KONAMI Digital Entertainment B.V “With the new name of the Youth Development Centre, the eFootball™ logo on the various teams’ training kits and a range of eSports activations, at KONAMI we know that this partnership will generate plenty of success now and in the long term.”
