The TOTW (Team of the Week) promo in FIFA 23 has faced a tumultuous year. After the first few weeks, interest in TOTW decreased due to the numerous FUT 23 promos that were released on a weekly basis.
To remedy this, EA Sports introduced Featured Player TOTW cards this year, which provided a larger stat boost to the players selected for the Team of the Week, making them more usable in the game’s meta. After the World Cup, the boost for Featured Players was even further increased, and their number within the TOTW was also raised.
Unfortunately, all of this was not enough to save the TOTW, which was even cancelled several weeks before the end of the major leagues, at least for this year. TOTW 26 was the last one released on Wednesday 26th April, and TOTW 27 will not be released next Wednesday 3rd May.
At this point, we expect EA Sports to rethink TOTW for next year, as it no longer makes sense with the various promos. In fact, the significantly boosted cards from the different promos make TOTW cards almost useless except for the first few weeks of the game. Of course, our TOTW Predictions will also go on hiatus and return next year.

During TOTS, the FUT Champions Final event start will be delayed until 8:00 pm BST and extended by 48 hours to ensure rewards can feature TOTS Items from that weekend’s Friday squad release. TOTW 26, releasing April 26th, will be the last TOTW released in FUT 23.
