EA Sports FC 26 is preparing to launch one of the biggest Ultimate Team promotions of the year with the arrival of Season 8: Journey of Nations.
The new campaign, inspired by the return of the World Cup atmosphere, will introduce special player cards, upgraded Evolutions, token rewards, premium content and a free Pelé card available to all players.
The event officially begins next week and marks the start of a brand-new World Cup-themed era inside Ultimate Team.
Free Pelé card confirmed for 5 June in FC 26 Ultimate Team
The headline reveal of the promotion is the arrival of a free 93-rated Pelé card, which EA Sports confirmed will be available from Thursday, 5 June 2026.
Players simply need to log in to Ultimate Team to claim the Brazilian icon. The special starter version comes with impressive attacking stats, including:
- 91 Pace
- 91 Shooting
- 90 Passing
- 93 Dribbling
Pelé Evolutions explained
One of the most exciting parts of the event is the ability to evolve Pelé into different versions depending on squad needs and playstyle preferences. Players will reportedly have three upgrade paths available:

EA Sports also unveiled several Season 8 reward cards linked to the Journey of Nations promotion.
Standard Pass rewards
The standard season ladder will reportedly include:
- Tajon Buchanan – 93 OVR
- Santiago Giménez – 95 OVR
- Trinity Rodman – 95 OVR
Premium Pass rewards
Premium users will gain access to additional cards, including:
- Timothy Weah – 94 OVR
- Sophia Wilson – 96 OVR
The cards are themed around international football and national pride ahead of the World Cup-inspired event.
New Evolutions arrive in FC 26 Ultimate Team
The update also introduces several new Evolutions focused on improving PlayStyles and overall squad customisation. Among the confirmed upgrades are:
Level 27 Evolution
- Max 93 OVR
- Intercept+ PlayStyle
- Maximum four PlayStyle+ traits
Level 28 Evolution
- Max 94 OVR
- Finesse+ PlayStyle
- Maximum four PlayStyle+ traits
EA Sports also teased multiple chain Evolutions for players rated between 90 and 92 overall, with silver PlayStyles capable of reaching up to eight upgrades.
FC 26 Store Token Pack contents revealed
Alongside gameplay content, EA Sports will release a dedicated Store Token Pack during the promotion. According to the revealed information, the pack will contain:
- Four 86+ Player Picks (1 of 5)
- Four 88+ Player Picks (1 of 4)
- Two 90+ Player Picks (1 of 2)
- One 85×20 Pack
The token system is expected to become a central feature throughout the event, allowing players to unlock additional rewards through gameplay progression.
Memphis Depay returns with National Pride card
Another major talking point surrounding the promotion is the confirmed return of Memphis Depay to Ultimate Team.
The Dutch forward is expected to receive a special National Pride card during the campaign, adding another fan-favourite attacker to the World Cup celebration.
