Despite achieving first place, which was fully expected, FIFA 19 saw a 25% drop in physical sales in the UK.
With the already expected ease, Electronic Arts’ title has already become the biggest UK release of 2018, but the price increase over last year and the growing strength of the digital format may help explain this decline.
The PS4 was the console where more units were sold, followed by Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, which represents 1% of sales of FIFA 19.
According to unofficial figures, FIFA 19 sold 623,000 units – about 200,000 units less than FIFA 18. Of this value, 399,000 belong to the PS4 version, 218,000 to the Xbox One version and 6,000 to the Nintendo Switch version.
FIFA 19 is available from September 28, 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch. Keep on following us also through our social Facebook and Twitter for other news and information.
