Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic, via the social network twitter, has released a video to present the Espanyol derby to be held tonight at Camp Nou.
Apparently nothing strange, but in fact it is. The Catalan club player has used a video with FIFA 20 content and the same appears with the official Barcelona kit which has a partnership with the Japanese software house ( Konami ) producing the eFootball PES series.
Usually all the social networks of Barcelona use sponsored posts with exclusive content branded eFooball PES and this chirping makes the community ask multiple questions.
At this point there are two possible scenarios:
- It could be a sensational gaffe. Wanting to take advantage of his image rights, Rakitic inappropriately disclosed the contents of the video in question.
- This tweet could be the prelude to an early end of the agreement between Konami and Barcelona which, as happened in the past with Borussia Dortmund, would intend to conclude a new commercial agreement exclusively with Electronic Arts.
If the second hypothesis were true, Electronic Arts could again take advantage of the license to use the Camp Nou which could then return to the series after a few years of forced absence.
At the moment none of the interested parties has released an official press release, we will continue to follow the story and will not fail to update you on the matter.
