The Question & Answer dedicated to the Career Mode, organized on the social network Twitter, with the developers of the new FIFA 21 football simulator has ended a few minutes ago.

Below is a complete recap of all the questions asked by the community and the answers given by the developers of EA Sports.

Q: Is dynamic potential still a thing in FIFA 21?

A: Yes. Dynamic Potential is present in FIFA 21. The more potential players get based on their performances, the more room they’ll have to grow in their Development Plans.

Q: Will there be a better choice of responses in Presentation/conferences etc or the same as last year and will there be more cutscenes?

A: There are more diverse responses in FIFA 21, as well as new questions in Press Conferences. The potential impact of your answers on Squad Morale have also been updated.

Q: How many career mode save slots do we have? Have they been increased from fifa 20?

A: The number of save slots stays the same in order to prevent performance issues due to file size.

Q: Is there anything new to the Youth Academy besides it already being there when you start the career mode, and the «Homegrown Talent»?

A: Yes, you can now take control of the development of Youth Players by setting them on specific Growth Plans, including the ability to convert to a new position.

Q: For the homegrown talent that comes with the special editions, will you get it in every career mode save you play or just your first one?

A: You will get a homegrown talent in every new Career Mode save.

Q: If we recieve an offer for a player can we ask for a player as a swap?

A: Yes. And the AI can also counter by proposing another player of theirs.

Q: Are there any plans to bring the stadium customisation options to career mode? Would be a great addition in the lower leagues where teams have basic stadiums?

A: We hear your feedback regarding stadiums and it’s something we’re always thinking about. This year, our focus was on building features and updates to give players more control over their Career Mode experience. There are several significant challenges to solve in order to create a robust custom Career Mode stadium experience. We’ll continue to explore all options and listen to your feedback on this topic.

Q: Have transfer budgets been tweaked? Especially after completing a season and the budget can be massive

A: We are always tweaking transfer budgets to reflect the real world football market. Additionally, you can use the new Financial Takeover setting to further tweak budgets when starting a new Career Mode save.

Q: How many mins approx are the interactive match simulations?

A: An Interactive Sim Match clocks somewhere between 4-5 minutes depending on how many match events happen and how many times the ball goes out of play. Keep in mind we’re talking about regular 90-minute matches with no extra time. You can also quick sim to the end at any point.

Q: Will the interactive sim, player development, and other new features be available for use in the player career mode as well?

A: These features are designed to enhance the managerial experience and are not available in Player Career. We are aware of current feedback regarding Player Career.

Q: Can we sim the gameplay? or it just 2D sim for now?

A: We are sticking to 2D to speed up the simulation as much as possible while offering the option to jump in and out of gameplay without any loading screens.

Q: We are sticking to 2D to speed up the simulation as much as possible while offering the option to jump in and out of gameplay without any loading screens.

A: Yes, you can choose certain Development Plans (Growth and/or Position Conversion) that can help you achieve growth in those specific areas. On that note, certain Development Plans can also modify a player’s Work Rates.

Q: Question about the training drills. You say in the Pitch Notes that when simulating them, “the grade you get will always be the highest grade that you’ve obtained when playing” them. So if I get an A+ in one drill, I’ll get A+ when simming that drill for the rest of my career?

A: Yes, for the rest of that Career you’ll get an A grade for that specific drill every time you sim it.

Q: Have you fixed the problem in wich 30 yeard old players got massive downgrades no matter how they were playing?

A: Attribute decline is based on age and position, usually when a player is 33-34 years old. With the new Development Plans, you can choose a plan which maintains key Attributes as long as possible, assuming the player is performing well and getting enough playtime.

Q: Have there been any changes to how Youth Academy players are scouted? (E.G. Expanded choice of nations available to scout). Also have there been any improvements to the regen namepool which has been lacking for some time now?

A: We added more countries where you can send your Youth Scout to, such as Wales, Ukraine, Serbia, Albania, the Baltics, and more. The database of names to pick from for Youth Players has increased to over 5000 first names and 8000 last names.

Q: Have you tweaked the league tables so that it’s more realistic? 2. All teams play so similarly.. do the opponent AI play differently depending what team you’re facing? (Brighton vs Man City)

A: Yes. The standings are better balanced now and you’ll get more authentic standings with a mixture of results. The opponent AI adapts their playing style to the quality of your squad and play differently if your players are better or worse rated.

Q: I’m really pleased with the progress, it sounds promising. But the pitch notes says auto kit selection. Does this mean we will no longer be able to select kits before games? In the past I’ve had to make home wear away kit for example due to kit clashes. Need that control really

A: We auto-pick your controller side and use kit clashing logic by default, but you can go into settings to customize these as you wish. We just want to get you into the match faster.

Q: Please answer this query. Is ‘lock to player’ still an option in FIFA 21 Career Mode? It is not in the screenshots in your pitch notes.

A: Yes, it’s still available. It’s part of the Customize menu where you can also choose other options such as Side Select, Kit Select, and Game Settings.

Q: If i play for example with Macclesfield, is every player going to say that they don’t want to play for my ‘low ranked’ team? Even as i won the champions league after tons of seasons? Like when am i no longer a low ranked team?

A: The average Star Ratings of the teams in the league dictate the quality of the league. So top rated players could potentially join a side like Macclesfield if they’re playing in a highly competitive league.

Q: Will youth players be able to actually grow as footballers? E.g. gain traits or improve their weak foot/skill moves as they develop? We all want to build a team of future stars so has there been any improvements in this area?

A: The Player Development feature is the new way to grow your Youth Players. You can assign specific plans to Youth Players to grow the Attributes you want them to develop, including Stamina, Weak Foot, or even Skill Moves. The new Active Training is designed to help increase the Sharpness of your senior Squad, getting them to perform better in matches.

Q: There’s a bug that’s been in Fifa since Fifa 17. It won’t allow you to win the league title in the J League. Will this be fixed for Fifa 21?

A: Yes.

Q: When you change a players position, for example Trent from RB to CM, will his old position still appear as one of his preferred positions or will it be overwritten?

A: When you convert a player’s position, their old one becomes a secondary preference. A player can retain up to 4 preferred positions. A player can convert to a new position quicker if the new position is already listed as one of their preferences. The Sharpness and Morale boosts are tied to a player’s preferred positions, so it can be useful to have versatile players in your squad.
