According to what has been reported on the Xfire, a source very close to Electronic Arts has confirmed that Cross-Play will be introduced in FIFA 23 and there will be the official license of the World Cup to be held in Qatar.
Cross-Play, or the possibility to play multiplayer between different platforms such as PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, will be a real novelty that could lead to a total revolution. Among all the modalities to benefit, most could be the least popular one, that is the Pro Club. In this way, all Pro Club fans will have a better chance of organizing real competitions that could give new life to the modality in question.
As for the World Cup license, it seems that EA will be able to use both the men‘s and women‘s World Cup licenses. In this case, the national team licenses that we will find in the official FIFA 23 roster will be many more than those currently available.
FIFA 23 should keep the Branding FIFA at least for next year, even if the change for the following ones are not excluded. EA started thinking about a branding change. If these rumors were to be confirmed, it means that the series will also use the FIFA name for the next edition, unlike what could be guessed from the latest statements released by the CEO of Electronic Arts Andrew Wilson.
